Re-Creation

Summer for school teachers is a time for restoration and re-creation. Giving all one has to students and parents takes all one has, and as in other professions/ministries, there needs to be some down time for refreshment. We applaud all the teachers out there and pray for your refreshment as well. You will find all you need, and more, as you remember II Cor 11:3...the simplicity and purity of devotion to Jesus! To all, have a blessed summer and enjoy the random meanderings of this blog, as we experience God working in and through us...ciao bella!

Day 5: Sestriere and Brick Oven PIZZA!

Before I launch into today's blog, let me clear up a mystery for you pork fans. Peggy flashed on this insight sometime During the Night Because The concept of eating raw pork, and That first taste of the dish last night, just Did not sit well ... if you know what I mean. What She Believes Now Is That It Was not raw pork, like pork tartare, Rather It Was a poor translation into English of the words ham. What we Were Actually eating, and it tasted like it, Was the the finest center cut piece of ham on the planet. whew ... Whatever They Do to ham to prepare More Than It Is eating raw pork. I know you all can rest assured That large worms are not this instant Forming In Our bellies.

Now on to .... Sestriere Sestriere is an alpine city near Turin, home of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Only 30 minutes from our B and B, we headed out this morning at 10am after breakfast Another Perfect. Marla is an expert pastry chef (chef and all around) and this morning's "pop tart" Was delicious!.

The hilltop town of Usseaux, known for ITS wall murals and overlook of the Ferrestre Fortress, WAS Our first stop. Here are some photos to break up the visual textual description .... types for you: Try to pick out the wall mural Compared to Real Village
If you said this Entire picture is a mural you'd be correct .... Try again ...

The lower half is the mural ..
The guy climbing up the vine to the sweet lady is part of the mural above the wall ...

Wrong .... I HAD QUICKLY guy to paint a mural of Peggy ...

This fortress is real, and the largest in Europe. You Can not Even see all of the 3 mile long wall from this view, But It's as close as We Were Able to get ...

We then Arrived at the Ski Jump Hills and Thought They Looked amazing with no snow:
I Do not Care That You're supposedly only A Few feet off the ground on Your Entire jump, it looks crazy ridiculous. Ummmm not for me, But for Peggy of course:))) Stu you know what I'm talking about:))

When We Arrived at Sestriere Somewhat akin to Squaw Valley, California There Were A Few We Had to get shots. The map of the runs and Their Various competitive winners, and the actual mountain They Were raced WHERE:

2 U.S. women won Gold medals ... Can You Name Them??

What's Most amazing about this day, Is That I Never Took photos of Either breakfast or lunch. Would Have Been lunch and sweet to see. Why? The specialty of this region is Called to embossed, two crispy, Freshly made waffles as the bread surrounding sandwich ham and melted cheese. Really?! It WAS beyond yum. And now that I'm an old hand at this English language thing, I just asked for a cafe, and I expressed the Received needed. Actually, Peggy ordered it while I Was in the powder room, But It Was Just what the doctor ordered for the ride home.

To Bless Our dear friends Jim and Christine, As They ponder Their anniversary gift to Each Other ... here are A Few Pappaveri photos (red poppies) ... they'll Understand ...

For dinner tonight, we will be sampling the culinary mastery of Fabrizio's Brick Oven Pizzas ... right in the lounge of the Bella Baita B and B. By the way, the place is pronounced Bela Buyta ... Which is how I Was not pronouncing it at first: Bella Buyita. I can not remember the last time I Butchered a language .. oh yeah, It Was The Last Time I Tried speaking one:))) more soon When the pizza comes steaming from the oven ..

Pizza was amazing and the photos are on my computer, however, since I can't find a wireless network, I'm using our hosts computer....thus I can write but not show photos...it is now Monday and there is a great story of how we ended up finding the BUrlinghams and our Villas for 2 lodging.  Suffice to say, Divine intervention was required...and God was faithful.

I will get more to our faithful followers...watch this space for soon to included photos with explanations.  love you all!!!

You hit your blogging stride and then it died. How are you? Are you with the Burlie-twirls yet?

I caught on, but the last post had some weird grammar and random capitalization. Was someone typing it for you, or translating it for you???

Love to hear more. Wish I could be there too.
