Re-Creation

Summer for school teachers is a time for restoration and re-creation. Giving all one has to students and parents takes all one has, and as in other professions/ministries, there needs to be some down time for refreshment. We applaud all the teachers out there and pray for your refreshment as well. You will find all you need, and more, as you remember II Cor 11:3...the simplicity and purity of devotion to Jesus! To all, have a blessed summer and enjoy the random meanderings of this blog, as we experience God working in and through us...ciao bella!

travel,delay,travel,drive,rain,awesome dinner

The Gubitz team has landed safely in Italy.  3 hour initial delay, change of connecting flight, near nightmare in connection initially routed to the wrong airport in Italy, intense thunderstorm and not knowing whether to arrive at our guesthouse before or after dinner...we plowed ahead and were blessed beyond belief!  Our hosts, Marla and Fabrizio, and their 5 other guests were waiting for us for dinner (3 from Denver and 2 from Canada).  The instant we arrived, with bags still in the car, we sat and ate an amazing home cooked meal with great wines and even homemade lemoncello and genepi.  Did I mention both hosts were chefs?  antipasti, parmesan foccacia bread, mushroom risotto, Rabbit, homemade cherry  ice cream with caramel and fresh rasberries, and open pitchers of "beverages". Exhausted but incredibly joyful, it's midnight and time for our first real sleep in 48 hours....
Breakfast is supposed to be amazing as are the local market, hiking, wine tasting and culinary delights throughout our stay here.  Perhaps a few more photos tomorrow, but for now, we're safe, warm, well fed and blessed.  Peace out!
